Am about to enter opening balances to new data file. Am wondering if the liability, equity, and Accu Dep amts have to be entered as a negative balance ?

The program knows that they are credits because of the account types so the answer is both yes and no :). For the Accum Dep accounts enter the values as negative, for liability and equity accounts, you will need to enter the values as positive.
