If I buy my employee a Christmas gift what expense does it go under?

Things like that can go under an expense account called Promotional Items. Or - Miscellaneous Expense would be appropriate if you don’t already have an account called Promotional Items for things meant to generate good will. Gifts, prizes, etc.
