I started using ag expert awhile ago and stoped using it again and now I wanna start again with the new year. how do I put in my starting bank balance

The answer to this depends on if you are starting with a brand new data file, or if you are continuing with your old file.
If it is a new file, go to Setup > Chart of Accounts. Click on your bank account, and click on Opening Balance. You can add the bank's opening balance there.
If this is a continuing file that you are just looking to update the numbers for, go to the Transaction Entry screen. You will need to do a withdrawal or deposit, depending on whether you need to increase or decrease the balance of the account. Fill in the appropriate information. The total will be the amount you need to increase or decrease by.
The Type will be EQ, and you will offset this entry to Retained Earnings. Clicking on record should apply the change you make.
