Hi Liz, if you haven’t posted anything to it yet then you can delete it by clicking on your Setup menu and choosing Chart of Accounts then select the account that you want to get rid of and click on the delete button on the right-hand side of that window. If you have posted to it already than it can’t be deleted. What you can do is set up a new account and then take the old account and edit it and just uncheck the active box in the bottom left-hand corner of the edit account window. If you do that then when you’re posting transactions and generating reports and things like that you won’t see that account in the list of available accounts .
